The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration
Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration was appointed on January 10, 2017. Madam Botchwey has been in active politics since 2009, and has been a Member of Parliament for four terms.
Prior to her present role as Minister, she had served as a Deputy Minister for the Foreign Affairs, Information, and Trade & Industry Ministries. She was a member of the ECOWAS Parliament between 2013 and 2017. In that role, she worked assiduously with her colleagues to assist the Parliament in its advisory role in considering matters relating to fundamental human rights and freedom.
The Honourable Minister has served, and continues to serve in various capacities on numerous committees of Parliament such as Appointments, Defense and Interior, Communications, and Gender & Children.
Madam Botchwey is a product of the University of Ghana Business School, University of Westminster – London, Ghana Institute of Journalism, and GIMPA. She holds an Executive MBA, MA in Public Communication, a Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising, a Certificate in Marketing Management, and Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB).
