His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the fifth President to be elected into office during the 4th Republic of Ghana.
Born into a highly political family, his father was one of the founding fathers engaged in the fight for Ghana’s independence; and became Chief Justice and later a President in the 2nd Republic of Ghana.
Between 1996 and 2008, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo was elected three times as Member of Parliament. He also served the nation in the capacities of Cabinet Minister, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, and later as Foreign Minister with distinction from 2001 to 2007.
In 2016, Nana Akufo-Addo , presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), emerged winner of the General Elections. He assumed office in January 2017 as President of the Republic of Ghana and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
